Shiney stuff
I was just pottering around Homebase and *coughsplutter* PC *hurumphcough* World *Snizchokesplutter* and i bought some of theeeeeese for 13 quid! Absolutely cool, totally groovy, and indescibably snazzy. Bosh them into a USB port and off we go. Laaaaaahvly! Simple low-tech case mod for those who don't actally give much of a monkeys about how their pooter looks. (The item shown here isn't as good as mine which slides through redgreenblueyellowcyanmagentawhite, or can have any of these colours still or be sound sensitive!! Hurrah! You can have your own little computer disco... obviously if you didn't have any friends)

suicidegirls.co.uk - not what you'd think
Ok, so there's the famous website Suicidegirls.com which is a journal/dating/exhibitionist community for for alternative/goth/rock chicks which has been around for a long time but can anyone tell me why suicidegirls.co.uk points to the Conservative parties website? (for our US readers - that's like pointing to the Republicans site - really not what you'd expect)
Bloglines | JennyCide's Blogs
If any of you are interested in RSS feeds or were wondering what I keep rambling about then you can get a good idea by nosing around Bloglines - this link will take you to my subscriptions which should give you a good idea of the kind of thing I like.
Comic Book Gorillarama - Monkeys in comicx
I have a unhealthy obsession with monkeys (or simians of any form) so I;m a big fan of Comic Book Gorillarama which is the most definitive listing of apes in comics I've seen (ok, I admit it's a fairly limited field of interest but I'm happy to have found it!)
Silly Chemicals
OK - so yes, I'm an ex-scientist. So? I'm not ashamed! However, I find molecules with silly names a constant source of entertainment. Perhaps I'm sad but I bet you giggle at molecules called 'arsole', 'moronic acid' and 'vaginatin'.
Clear case mod
I've seen a few clear perspex case mods around before but I thought the ClearPC "Secret Agent" Briefcase was one worthy of posting as it's a very well made box. I would, however, dispute the crappy 'Secret Agent' name as, since it's see-through, it's hardly 'secret' now is it?
My favourite Swearword
If you've seen the BBC3 adverts with lots of famous British and American tv stars talking about their favourite words then you'll like the untransmittable version where they spout their favourite swearwords. It's quite startling to see famous actors of this calibre swearing like 'normal' people. (needs headphones).

Grooo!
Poo auction. Clicky.
A well rounded argument
I've just received this e-mail and thought I should share it. I'm not going to ftp it anywhere so I'm going to try something with 'title tags'. It begins:
On her radio show recently, Dr Laura Schlesinger said that, as an observant Orthodox Jew, homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus 18:22, and cannot be condoned under any circumstance The following response is an open letter to Dr. Laura, penned by a US resident, which was posted on the Internet. It's funny, as well as informative:
Now hover your mouse here. Then here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here. Finally here.
Spider experiments with Drugs
This is an old piece of research but I wanted to blog it again - Spider experiments with Drugs shows is a very obvious way the effects of various drugs on spiders - the results are very similar to what you'd expect the effects on humans would be.
Merge RSS & Atom - please!
It's not often I agree with Dave Winer but on the matter of merging RSS & Atom I'm 100% behind him - this might be greek to you guys but this is a format battle that affects my RSS feed for this site and many, many others. I believe RSS will have a major impact on the internet over the next 3-4 years so this needs sorting now and isn't helped by the big players trying to dominate the market each with their own preferred version. Then again, I'm normally wrong about these things.
Pong
Best pong version, ever.
George Michael in outstandingly cool move shocker
I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Mr Michael, he always seemed knowingly cheesy and good humoured and that video for "outside" was one of the funniest things I've ever seen on TOTP.

However it appears he is now going to stop making money from his music. OK, he's still going to coin in shedloads for the new album and he is minted beyond belief, but when you consider how many other successful stars continue to flog a dead horse in the name of avarice this is really cool.
Dark Side Masks
Need something for your next hallowe'en party? You could do worse than buying something from this site. OK, so it's a long time to hallowe'en but by the time we get there I would have forgotten about this site. Meh..

Free download of the KLF classic chill-out - The White Room
The KLF's classic chill-out album The White Room has always been an extremely hard album to get hold of in it's original form but just by submitting your email address to this site, you can download the whole thing for free. cheers Olly
Can't live without...

then go to downloads & then hover yer mouse over crazy bird in the middle.
look at the left hand side.
laugh.
Bubble struggle
I used to play this game on the Amiga but I can't remember what it's called. This version is called Bubble Strugle (sic) and it's pretty darn addictive.
USB Goodies
You really can get USB-everything these days - the Register ar reporting a new Swiss Army knife but my favourite is the Devil Duckie Drive, an evil-looking rubber duck with eyes that flash during data transfer. We've posted other goodies in the past such as Hubzilla and the Hello Kitty USB Hub.
With This Rig, I Do Thee Wed
Soppy case mod - as geeks go, Mike Johnson is right up there - he proposed to his fiance by building her a specially modded computer. It's shaped like a wedding cake and had the proposal etched onto the side windows as well as having the ring hidden inside. To see how tacky the end result was, check out the photos.
US woman shops with fake $1m bill
Alice Pike is a new heor of mine. She brazenly attempted to spend a one million dollar bill. Bearing in mind that there are no bills over $100 anymore, this was failry cheeky but the best bit is that she tried to spend it at Wal-Mart on groceries and asked for change!
Tattoo clothing
Are you too lame to get your own tattoo? Want to be a weekend rebel? Why not buy some Tattoo clothing?
(to answer my own question - because it's awful - I mean this guy's skintone doesn't match at all!)
Sissy Jennifer - Aaargghh, my eyes!
Oh dear god! Since when have cross-dressing, old, fat men been classed as pin-ups?
It's a sick, sad world. (caution: NSF Eyes!)

Tickle Elmo
Brings out the giddy giggly little child in all of us. Try tickling his ickle nose
I haven't laughed this hard in ages
In your lunch hour - check this out! And check out the NASCAR link first! Wow! However... please do not get offended by the way it starts out - you start out thinking you're being subjected to his unbelievably racist opinion (which is somewhat narrow minded to say the very least) but by the end his pure vehemence becomes a source of hilarious ridicule - you can barely understand what he's saying between the censor beeps! When Two Tribes Go to War: A History of Video Game Controversy
Now, don't be put off by the length of this article (I've seen shorter PHD theses!) because this Gamespot article on controversial computer games is extremely thorough (my first thought was to check that they'd included my all-time favourite game Kingpin and indeed, it was there). Worth a lunchbreak of anyone's time.
Calibrating your bat detector using your PC speaker
Not sure why I'm blogging this, it just seemed like a random thing to do. Calibrating your bat detector using your pc speaker is apparently an essential thing to do because as the man says, "You'd feel a
right idiot reporting a Nathusius pip just because your detector was out of calibration!".
Quite.
Kinetic Wood Sculptures
These kinetic wood sculptures are utterly beautiful - I'd love one but the prices are way too high for me. Shame really.
