WTF?
Anyone care to explain why www.
spunklovingsluts.com points to the Labour party website?
Is there something the Blair Babes want to tell us?
More ASCII video
A while ago we blogged a site which had various videos rendered in ASCII, this is a step on from that.
VLC is a nifty (and simple) little program for streaming video/audio across a network, but the bloke who wrote it has now writen an extra bit, that will convert any DVD/DViX/Mpeg2/TV input (read GAMES)/etc into
16 colour ASCII art.
Totally usless, but it's ASCII art and as a GromBlog reader you know ASCII art is cool. Don't you?
:: design for chunks ::
Brilliant design site that holds regular competitions to create
designer sickbags for airlines - my favourite is the celebrity chunks range featuring the Karen Carpenter model.
Ketchup as a Vegetable
I'm posting this to settle a bet with one of my friends - it's the proof that Ronald Reagan's government attempted to reclassify
Ketchup as a vegetable in a bid to make school dinners cheaper since it would then satisfy the federal rules on vegetable content on government-provided meals.
On a similar note, whilst looking for this proof I found
this story claiming that about 5 years ago, the US government are at it again - they've now reclassified Salsa dip as a vegetable!
How to Eat Rocks.
Imagine you're stuck on a desert island with nothing to eat and the only things around you are small boulders. If you don't want to die of starvation then you need this handy guide on
'How to Eat Rocks'. Don't forget;
Igneous - do NOT chew
Metamorphic - do NOT chew
Sedimentary - use your best judgement
(thanks Angus)
EJ VJ DJ
The
EJ VJ DJ is another item on my long list of unrealistic Christmas presents. It's a midi controller for videos in the shape of a vinyl deck, in other words you can scratch videos and mix them up just like 12" records. Very cool indeed.
Eclectic Method
I know we have a rule about repeating links but I wanted to make an exception by posting
Eclectic Method again. They're one of the best video mash-up artists I've seen and I've just had a mail from them about this site so I'm in a good mood. Go and suck up their bandwidth by downloading all their cool vids.

Cool new T-shirt ranges
On my quest for a t-shirt featuring Nick-Nack from the Bond movies (Herve Villechaize) I stumbled across
these designs including exactly the one I wanted. Funjunkie readers might be interested in their chip-fork design although it's not quite a spork.
Amusing Product names revisited
I've got to thank my good friend
Sarah for this link as it had me laughing out loud when I saw it;
Look at the fourth
pair of gloves on this page - don't tell me that doesn't have the same connotations in America that it does here in the UK?
Old UK TV station idents as screensavers
Rapidly becoming a cult favourite is
this site full of flash files & screensavers based on old British Tv station idents and test cards. Go have a look - it's a lot cooler than I make it sound. Honest.

Instant cut-up bootlegs
This is truly superb! I love the mash-up, cut-up bootlegs of songs people like cassetteboy, freelance hellraiser, Bit Meddler, Osymyso et al create and I've just stumbled across
'Let them sing it for you' - it's a simple idea that must have been a nightmare to setup - type in some lyrics and it'll play you back the words as snippets from songs in it's database.
Absolute genius.
Website for the blind
Check out the graphics on this website
for the blind (sorry - bad taste joke). (needs sound/headphones)
Grand Canyon Monitors - for the geek in your life
If you want the ultimate flight sim experience or just want to see your pr0n actually life-size then why not buy the geek in your life a
Grand Canyon Monitor.
Timmeh! - the game
If you like South Park then you'll love
Timmy - the game. If you don't like South Park then you'll hate this immature un-politically correct game.

Own Dexter's Laboratory Bedroom
If any of my friends or family are actually reading this (or even a particularly generous reader) then you might want to pop over to Cartoon Network to buy me one of their
fantastic gifts for Xmas. For a mere hundred thousand dollars, you could get a Dexter's Laboratory Bedroom or a Powerpuff girls bedroom. If you're feeling extremely generous then, for a cool million dollars, they'll build you the ultmiate tree-house with 7 rooms and satellite dish. If, on the other hand, you're feeling skint then you could buy Space Ghost's desk for forty thousand bucks. I'll take any of them. I'm not fussy.
Man stabbed over 'ginger hair'
No-one can deny that Yorkshire people are harsh but fair as this story, about a man being
stabbed for having 'ginger hair' proves.
Annihilate Your PC with Thermite
If you're worried about the police kicking your door down to raid you for your mp3 collection then you might want to invest in some
Thermite to destroy the evidence in a rather dramatic way.

Copito the Albino Gorilla Has Died
Sad news - Copito de Nieve (Snowflake), the world's only known albino gorilla
has died at his home in Barcelona zoo this week. Copito is best known by UK readers as the star of the Basement Jaxx album cover for
'Rooty'.
Magic Shadow - Basketball
If you sw the amazing
Matrix Table Tennis video we posted a few months ago then you may like this
Magic Shadow Basketball version. It's not quite as good but it's still amazing how they do it.
Pet Umbrella with matching People Umbrella
This is great. We love silly pet products on this site and one of the silliest has to be the
Pet Umbrella with matching People Umbrella, although on this site there were a lot of other contenders for bizarrest goods for sale.
Great eBay item for Rugby fans
If you're a rugby fan then you'll love
this eBay item.

Subversive cross-stitch
I never even considered taking up cross-stitching until I happened across
these subversive patterns. Wonder if my mum would like a kit for Xmas this year?
Amazon-Michael Jackson Public Information Service
Amazon.com now features readers recomendation of 'When Your Child Has Been Molested: A Parent's Guide to Healing and Recovery' instead of Michael Jackson's CD, '
Number Ones'.
Broadband for trains
Good news for people like me who have to travel to London regularly - GNER have announced
broadband for trains.Actually, thinking about it, I'd rather they spent the money on ensuring that we could get to the destination reliably instead of devising a way of getting us to pay for more services whilst we're stranded on a broken down train.
Deep Impact: Send Your Name to a Comet
Nasa are giving everyone the chance to send their name into space on a disc, to be attached to a
spacecraft which is being sent to collide with a comet.
If you don't want to send your own name up to be obliterated by cosmic rocks then you could always use one of
these names. (Amanda Huggenkiss anyone?)
