kamikazee killmouse
This
flash movie made me spit my beer over the monitor when it got going. Genius!
Doctor Who - Shada
Before his very untimely death, Hitchhiker's author Douglas Adams wrote a series of Doctor Who for the BBC. Since the BBC had decided not to film any more episodes, they turned it into a
cartoon. All the episodes are available here for download.
Paint Game
I came up with this idea a few months ago but
Cal has beaten me to it (and done a far, far better job than I ever could.
Paint Game is a simple idea - simply try to work out what Dulux, Homebase et al were thinking when they came up with such bizarre names for paint as 'Labrabor Sands', 'Pebble Mosaic' & 'Bongo Jazz'?!?
Shedpocalypse Now
Man Vs Shed - who do you think will win? My money's on the
man. My shed had better behave after watching this otherwise I'll kick in to death next time I'm angry.
Boot into Pacman
I know Grom has blogged
Knoppix before (a working linux system on a bootable CD), but now a stripped down version is out
KnoppiXMAME, which is basicaly an arcade machine on a CD, which you can bob in any PCs CD drive and you're away.
I've not d/led it yet, because 1.0 hasn't hit the download page, so I can't say if it comes with any games but I'm guessing you'll have to find your own
ROMs.
Ringtoneshits.com and other amusing domain names
Following on from the
Powergenitalia post (which now looks like a hoax.
NTK have found more amusing real sites such as
Ringtoneshits.com,
whorepresents.com (took me a while to figure that one out!) and
classicalbums.co.uk (Classical bums?).
World's Smallest Guitar
Like the title says,
here's the world's smallest guitar - about the size of a human blood cell. I'm guessing the Marshall Amp to go with it is a bit bigger.
Sub £100 DVD Burner
I'm sorely tempted by
this DVD Burner. It's the first name-brand one for less than one hundred pounds that I've seen. They even have
blank disks for 78pence each with a guarantee to replace any faulty disks. Nice deal - now I just have to convince the missus.

Odd Campaign
If you ever needed proof that the advertising industry is rife with drug use, then the news that Aclaim are advertising the latest Virtua Tennis game by
painting homing pigeons and getting them to fly into Wimbldon games, is it.
Motorway blocked by pr0n
I'm only a day late with this one but the picture makes it worth my late news post. A lorry containing blow-up dolls,
whips and plastic breasts, overturned on the M6 motorway in Birmingham, UK yesterday blocking the road for several hours. I can't stop laughing at the picture - I just wish I could find a bigger version for my desktop.
The Mail Rail
Just stumbled across
this interesting story - it kind of fits in with my fascination for hidden things - in this case an entire underground railway system beneath London used to send mail from one side of London to the other which was closed down at the beginning of this month. I can't tell you how badly I'd like to be given free rein down there with a minature railway and the freedom to roam around underneath in the secret tunnels. I hope someone finds an interesting use for it otherwise the government will probably take it over as their emergency hideaway in case of terrorist attack.
"Crock Shock in Cannock", apparently
Continuing our bloggage of British wildlife on the rampage, the stakes have been raised again. It would now seem that badgers and squirrels aren't quite dangerous enough, at least that's what
this news story would have us believe.
Archos AV3xx series review
Merely weeks after I bought my new
AV 140 mp3/video player, the cheeky French geius' who made out have brought out their latest invention - the
AV300. There is nothing else in the shops that has the capabilities of these machines. My only gripe is the poor battery life but otherwise, these machines are the proverbial mutts nuts. If you're rich or feeling particularly flush then go buy one. UK readers will get fantastic service from Chris at
Datamind.
Dj Shadow update
The latest news from
Dj Shadow is that there's a new single released on Monday, a
remix album called 'Diminishing Returns' in two weeks time and 2 new
Unkle albums due in the next coupla months - 'Eye for an eye' (new material) and
'Big Brother is Watching' album of mixes. While you're waiting for all of that to appear in the shops/kazaa, why not go play the new
Dj Shadow game?
My worst fears, realised
Now I'm not going to start a "is GM food a bad idea" thing, but sometimes the boffins go too far. Scientists can now grow
decaffeinated coffee.
Nooooooooooooooo

Blow-up Doll review
NSFW (although it is only rubber or plastic) - Don't ask how I got to this review of
blow-up Dolls but I thought it was really funny and fascinating although I'm still confused about the one with no openings?!?!
As one review states;
"Self esteem sold separately."
Futurama the game
Woo Yay! Despite threats of cancelling the tv series,
Futurama the game will be released for Playstation2 & Xbox in August. It's a 3rd person shooter that plays like an episode of the program.
Mob Rules
The anarchist in me loves the sound of the
MOB happenings in America. The idea is very simple. You receive an email telling you of the location, you sync your watch then simply turn up at the designated spot at the exact time and follow the instructions that you were sent before hand. Imagine the agents from Matrix:Reloaded mixed with the spectacular ending from the
Thomas Crown Affair. Utter organised chaos for 10 minutes then everything returns to normal leaving only bemused bystanders.
Clever bugg3r takes money from Nigerian Scammer
Even if you're sick of stories about the 'Nigerian email scam', the Register have a cool
story about a man who managed to take money from one of the fraudsters. There's something strangely heartwarming about scamming scammers.
Matrix - Live in Japan
This is one of those times when I wish I could speak Japanese so that I'd know more about what's going on
here. From what I can tell, a load of Japanese Matrix:Reloaded fans have decided to recreate scenes from the film in real life and play 'catch Neo' on th estreets of Shibuya in Japan. Check out
these pictures or
this flash movie. Looks good fun (- can any of my Japanese visitors please tell me more about this please?)
Ann Summers - job centre case over
There's been an interesting court case going on over the last few weeks where
Ann Summers (a UK based company who started off by organising like the old tupperware parties but this time to sell vibrators to housewives) were forbidden from advertising job vacancies in the local job centres because the jobs might offend some would-be applicants. Ann Summers have finally
won the legal right to advertise for a tea-lady after their lawyer used the logical arguement that it is less likely to be offensive than sending a vegetarian to work in a butcher's shop. Common sense has won for a change.
PC or Stereo?
Is
this a hi-fi or a computer? I like this 'mega pc' as it really blurs the lines between a regular pc and a stereo.

Slammed! A Virus Story
Very interesting article on the SQL virus known as
Slammer. If you want to know how a virus can bring down the internet in a matter of hours then read this - it's a good article.
'V' to return to the small screen?
Fans of the cult tv series 'V' will be overjoyed that
it seems likely to return as a made-for-tv movie.
Non-fans won't care less.
(personally I'm intrigued - I loved the original at the time)
Things aren't what they seem...
...or "Why you should always check with your localisation department before choosing a domain name." This is the kind of advice
Powergenitalia should have listened to. (SFW, except for the title).
(grr! - beat me to posting this by 2whole hrs Kaye! - grom)

'Nutha nutty B3tan
GR££DY's another hidden talent to emerge from
B3ta, this week he's mentioned for his new animation called
blob, an endearing cartoon based on the 70's (I think) pop song 'Hot Butter' by Popcorn. I had a look around his site and found
this birthday card that he did for a mate that I thought was brilliant - very like
Joel Veitch's kitten videos.
Moobs or Boobs?
'Moobs' are another name for man-tits - breasts on men for a truly terrifying quiz this week a sick B3tan called DJOL has made the
Moobs or Boobs? quiz. I feel sick now (probably NSFW).

Savland
Quick mention for a new blogger, Martin, and his
Savland blog. He was nice enough to link to me so it's only fair to return the favour.
