Cannot find Weapons of Mass Destruction
Amusing use of an error message;
These Weapons of Mass Destruction
cannot be displayed. The weapons you are looking for are currently unavailable.
Opera release "bork" edition
There has been a fuss over the last few weeks about the web browser Opera (which I use as well as IE). Apparently, if you visit the Microsoft's portal MSN, it gets screwed up in Opera. There's a conspiracy theory going around that says it was deliberate (which I can believe looking at the
evidence). As a retaliation, Opera have released a special edition called the
"Bork" Edition which works as a normal web browser unless you visit
MSN in which case you'll see something like
this - that one website displayed in the language of the Swedish Chef from the Muppet show. It's gotta be a cheaper way of making a point that wasting money sueing Microsoft!.
Now I'm just waiting for the "Bjork" edition!
Fluffy The Penguin Goes Skiing
Thomas Scott has come up with a quality piece of flash - the story of
Fluffy The Penguin and his skiing mishaps.
Puppies are the new kittens
Wow! - I found these
puppies after
Phil Price mentioned it as the source for the puppies on his Valentine tribute to
Lady in Red.
Uptown Jedi Ranking
I'm sure you're all sick of the Jedi census farago by now but as a final couple of words on it here is the breakdown of town-by-town Jedi 'worshippers' and also the official response from the census people.
Valentines Hunk for the ladies
A muscle-bound lothario especially for all my female (or that way inclined) readers. Press numbers to make this
bodybuilder flex and tweak his muscles.
Steven Spielbergs Off Licence
b3ta time again - first up is another offering from mantlepies with his
Off Licence game that brings back memories of underage drinking. Good stuff.

Squaresville
Squaresville is a great resource for off-the-wall
images and
fonts. (found whilst trying to get stuff to use on a last minute/emergency Valentines card for the missus!)
Hayseed Dixie
First there was the AC/DC covers, then the soft rock classics, now
Hayseed Dixie are releasing an album of
KISS covers. That's a whole lot of
covers.
Digital Autopsy
An absolutely gorgeous art catalogue - particularly of interest to Goths,
Industrial Kids and all Alternative Types -
Studio Ronin 2002 Catalogue (thanks Kaye)
Not-so Itsy Bitsy
Arachnaphobic? Don't even think of having a look at
the pictures in this thread. Like the comments say, would your first reaction really be to take a photo if you saw a spider this big?
Nocturnal emissions
I'm glad I didn't find this site myself. A friend has just passed this on to me saying that his colleague found
this site whilst trying to research a product for work. He 'claims' that this wasn't what he expected to find. (caution NSFW and definitely NSFGenitals!)
Return of the Jedi
The first results of the UK 2001 census have come back and after all the mails that went around calling for 'JEDI' to be a recognised religion, it seems that
390,000 people entered Jedi as their faith.
Now we know for definite that there are 390,000 single, male geeks resident in the UK.
Paintings of MJ
More scary stuff to buy. Stretching the deifinition of 'artist' seems to be a life's work for
this Czechoslovakian artist/stalker.
Wanna buy a lion?
I wish I had room in my lounge for this
lion - I have absolutely no idea what I'd use I could find for it but I still want it

Microsoft BOB
Just had to settle a bet at work - it appears that I'm about the only human left who remembers
Microsoft Bob - the ill fated Operating System from 1995. Having found references to it on the web to prove to workmates that it did exist, I was struck by how many of the features which were moaned about at the time are now standard features of the new versions of Windows. Why haven't you heard about BOB? Well, mostly because it needed at least 8Mb of RAM &
32Mb of disk space to run and at the time (early 1995), that was an unheard-of luxury for most pc users especially considering that it was aimed at newbies & housewives.
It appears that Microsoft have
disowned it completely.
If you want to see BOB in action then I found a 5 minute video of it
here (ignore the 15 second advert that precedes it though).
If anyone else does remember it or actually used it then I'd be interested to see - I still think it may have just been a bad dream.
Gaming 'is good for you'
I now have even more
reason to spend hours online on games such as Return to Castle Wolfenstein & Unreal Tournament. Unfortunately there's always a
downside to every piece of good news - this one is that there's a big security risk to playing online games.
Lost City of Egypt discovered
A team of Scottish archaelogists have discovered a
lost city in Egypt - one can only assume that they were looking for a pub.
Dog-Washing Machine
NExt time you visit the laundromat, you might want to take your pet with you for a
clean while-u-wait. If you have a cruel sadistic streak. (with video)

Desktop Wallpapers
If your desktop is looking a bit dull then can I recommend a fresh lick of paint - try these
Star Wars Wallpapers, or a variety from
DeviantArt or for some very flash (& CPU-hungry), try the one I use - a moving desktop called
drempels from
Geisswerks.

erm, ok...?
The Ministry Of Silly Messages
Another of my personal interests is censorware. Recently I've posted about the new
UK Parliament Mail filtering system. Well, it appears that I was wrong about the MP for Scunthorpe not being able to get mails but the system does block quotes from Hamlet amongst other things;
"I have given suck, and know how tender 'tis to love the babe that milks me ...
But screw your courage to the sticking-place, And we'll not fail."
(caution: link contains enough naughty words to trigger most web-filtering systems at workplaces so please be careful if you're at work)
Pulling Time
It's
Pulling time and you need a partner - negotiate the bouncers, weirdos & piles of vomit to get the girl in this fun flash game.

Buzzwordometer.com - is your site Buzzword-compliant?
Only one link today since nothing else would come close to the genius that is
Buzzwordometer.comBig cheers to Big Ol, Tobes & Russ from
Zolv.com who've spent weeks in a darkened room working on this and having to put up with me picking holes in their code.
Now, I don't charge anything to you guys for the use of this site & I ask for nothing in return...
...except -
please forward this link to all of your friends and tell them to forward it on.Don't forget, if you're seen on this site at work then it's a legimate marketing research tool.
