GiveBoobs.com
The first shameless freeloader of the year has arrived. After
savekaryn.commanaged to raise $20,000 last year, a Californian named Michel has started
GiveBoobs.com in an attempt to raise a mere $4500 for a breast augmentation operation. (site is SFW - no pictures of boobies!)
HackQuest
Soem of you will have seen the old
Cyberarmywebsite for practical learnign of internet security. The biggest problem with that site was that if you got stuck on one particular level then you couldn't progress any further.
HackQuest is another site along the same lines except on this one you can pick and choose which challenges you want to attempt. It's a great way of learning the basics of hacking & cracking and hopefullky become much more aware of how to tighten up security on your website or pc.
Beauty Kit for Little Girls
This is quite sick but oddly bizarre -
Beauty Kit for girls is a video clip/spoof of an advert for a plastic surgery toy for children.
Aargh - My Eyes!!
Go to
this page. Click the links. Go blind.
Mad optical illusions.
A song a Day
Now this is a cool site & excellent idea -
otisfodder.com is posting a song a day as mp3 on their site. They started on the 1st Jan so you haven't missed much but all the old ones are available in the
archives. All the songs so far have been very odd but worth listening to. As an example - today's song is from "Elvis Casio and his Karaoke Hound Dog Revue" who was an Elvis impersonator doing some karaoke at a Casio convention! One to bookmark!

William Gibson
William Gibson (author of Neuromancer) has a
blog - it's prettier than mine. (but mine's more fun)
Kill Bill
Kill Bill is going to be the 4th film by Quentin Tarantino. It looks interesting so far, with Uma Thurman as a
motorbike riding ninja kitana-weilding assassin. I'm just loading up the trailer now so can't tell you much else about it yet but I expect it to be visually stunning, have a funky soundtrack with some feisty young women and feature lots of violence and no computer graphics. Bet I'm not wrong.
Jon Johansen found not guilty - DECSS case
A huge Woo Yay! for common sense in the Norwegian Courts after
Jon Johansen was acquitted of all charges relating to the DeCSS case against him. This was the DVD cracking case I have mentioned before but there's a piece on it below if you scroll down to last Friday.
Jeebus & the Devil's music
If you were a teenage metalhead like me then you might have found yourself wondering whatever happened to the greats of the eighties. Like
Sebastian Bach of big-hair band "Skid Row". He's now not only found Jeebus but he's playing him in "
Jeebus Christ Superstar". Maybe he was attracted to the role by stories like
this one saying Jeebus was a stoner. Like the hair & sandals wasn't a big enough clue!
Half Time highlights
If you've been to any big sports games recently (yeah, me neither) then you'll probably have noticed how Americanised the half time 'entertainment' has become.
Gameops is a site that runs promotions on where to get some of the weird public humiliation rituals that you see at the arenas - things like "Human Hockey Puck Sling Shot", "Human Hamster Balls" & "Big Foot Basketball".

Concorde's chicken test
Back in the 70's British scientists tested
Concorde's sonic boom out on chickens. Not one scrambled egg was produced.
uck Wa
Whilst browsing for new t-shirts on the web the other day (yeah, I know - sad isn't it?) I came across an old favourite - the
uck Wa t-shirt (to be worn mainly under coats) which is from martian.fm I stumbled into their 'best-of-2002 letters from readers (supposedly anyway) in the section called
tw@. It's one of the funniest things I've read this year (mind you it is only 6th Jan!)

h4ml3t - the 1337 ver5i0n
Most of you will have seen the stick men version of
Romeo & Juliet done in leet speak about a year ago. Chris Coutts, the creator, has done another one to help edumacate the youth of today by tackling
Hamlet.
and for those of you who don't get it, there's a simple explanation of it all
here.
The Game Room
Don't go
here unless you don't want to not spend a lot of time playing addictive games with stick men. (did I get my double negative right there?)
