Y.A.C.C.M.
Which stands for Yet Another Cool
Case Mod.
Immature results from the 1901 UK Census
After the fiasco in getting the online version of the 1901 UK census online, TheRegister has revealed that even in those days there seems to have been as many people determined to have a
little bit of fun with their entries as we did with the 'Jedi as a religion' thing - do you really believe that people were called Minnie Shafter, Annie Fanny or Fanny Clam?
Will the real Bill Wyman please stand up
Lawyers serve
'cease and desist' paperes on the 'Not That' Bill Wyman. Hilarity Ensues.
Why wasn't I invited?
Sounds like kids these days have better
birthday partiesthan when I was a kid!
A sorry comment on the state of our Social Services
Another weird story - charity workers chat with
dead woman, Then Leave
Piano tuning - in the Amazon!
This is so cool - a British explorer has delivered on his promise to deliver a
grand piano to a remote tribe in the Amazon and even managed to get some piano tuners 350 miles into the jungle to tune it. Now that is classic British eccentricity combined with dedication to keeping a promise. Classy!
Think our postal service is slow?
Just think yourself lucky that you're not in
Nepal where this woman was kept in jail for an extra 6 years due to a letter going missing in the mail.

Guard robot for the home
Sanyo are about to unleash a funky, new product onto the market - it's a
Guard-Dragon for your home that includes an 'odor-sensor' which I assume is intended for use as a smoke detector but I'm sure other uses will be dreamt up.
Joe & Kate Travel Update
My friends Joe & Kate, who are on a round-the-world year out trip have updated their
website again. It's a good read even if you don't know them and gives you a really good flavour of backpacking life. I've only one question for them though - how do they manage to find cyber cafes halfway up mountains in India?
Pavlov the Dog
Cool flash animations about
Pavlov the Dog (I assume you all know of Pavlov's dog! - if not then
read about it).
You can just tell that this is from Belgium looking at the style of animation.
Doom 3 leaked Demo
There's a leaked demo/alpha of the new Doom 3 game out on the internet - I'm trying to d/load it now. You should easily be able to find it on kazaa or other p2p programs but be wary - the file size should be 364Mb - if not then it's probably a fake that's renamed. I'll post the link I'm using in the comments below in case anyone is having difficulty getting it.

Calling all Photshop seamtresses
If you have such wide ranging hobbies as photosoppery & crocheting then you might like to have a look at
Lolailonline and her photoshop petitpoint.
Tumbling Teddies!
Tumbling teddies - another way to waste 2minutes 24 seconds of your life.
Knock 'em down then watch them get back up.
Spot the Retard
/rant on
This is the face of stupidity. Just look at that face. Looks pretty ugly doesn't it? Well, Laura Betterly isn't just ugly , she's evil as well, for she's a
spammer. For some reason she seems to think that what she does is fine as long as it doesn't break any laws. Hmm.
"What we do for a living is not a bad thing. We're not horrible," she says.Erm, no. Laura Betterly - you give retards a bad name.

Beverage Bulldog
I found
this site whilst trying to get out of my turn for making the brews at work. Fill out the order form then send it to someone else in the office & with any luck, you should have a piping hot drink arrive on your desk shortky afterwards (then again, it might just land in your lap!)
Marge Simpson - Boobies!
Not since the whole Jessica Rabbit/Basic Instinct furore has one
cartoon female caused such a kerfuffle over a pair of breasts.
The human Swiss Army Knife
Sometimes you come across a story that really demands a photo to go with it. Unfortunately there is no photo for
this story of the human Swiss Army Knife but maybe my imagination is better than reality (wouldn't be the first time!)
Classic and Cheesy Adverts from the late 80's and early 90's
Excellent Nostalgia trip! 'Dave The Wave' has put together this site full of
classic adverts from the late 80's and early 90's that you can watch. My favourite so far is the Jaffa cake 'Munchkin' advert.

Brickfilms - films of brick!
You'll have all seen the movie featuring lego characters but howsabout an entire site of
Lego films? There are quite a few on here already including some epics (one is over an hour long!), and ranging from comedy, horror, spoofs to recreations of famous sporting events. Which all goes to prove that geeks have too much free time and no girlfriends.
Save Karyn has been Saved!
The site that spawned a thousand jealous imitators -
SaveKaryn.com has raised enough money to totally clear her debt! And to think that people say the internet can't make money!
John Cleese 'to pen Superman comic'
This is the horrible bit that, as a blog-writer, I hate. I have to think of something amusing or informative to enter here when the
title of this entry tells you everything that you could possibly want to know about the story anyway.
Make your own comic
This is one of those sites that you stumble across months after you first saw it and suddenly realise how fantastic it really is.
Stripcreatorlets you make your own 3 cell comic strip in minutes. Could do with thumbnails of all the options to save you having to scroll through & try them all before you find the one you want but otherwise it's superb. (Just noticed that it may not work on Nutscrape browsers, so it may be Internet Exploder or nothing for this one - sorry to all my linux readers & others with sense ;) )
Here's a very lame example of what you can do with it.
PC Stress Relief
Getting upset with your computer again? Take out your
frustrations with this handy site.
HTTP 404 Porn Not Found
Cannot find smut server or the
porn you are looking for is currently unavailable.
Unlikely Banner Ads
Courtesy of Fark - here's their
Photoshop competition to create the most unlikely Banner ads for websites. Good stuff.

My Chat Room

Chat RoomHere's an experiment for you all - try clicking on the picture to be taken to my chat room. Don't expect to see anyone on there as I doubt there would be enough interested people on this site but you never know. This is a new service I've been working on for work - check out the info page to get your own free chat room from
this page.
Kalashnikov in MP3
This is very odd. Not even sure if it's real or a spoof?! It's a mix of girls, guns & gadgets - an
MP3 player that looks like an AK47 magazine cartridge. Peculiar.
Amusing Amazon cock-up
Or at least, I assume it's a mistake - but maybe people who buy Babylon 5 videos do also have need of
this book.
Pointless Technology
Here's an odd idea - Recordable cds that look like
old 45rpm vinyl singles. Quite cute in a retro kinda way.
Psst - wanna buy a plane?
If only I had one of
these planes. Then I could, not only fly down to London, but also bomb GNER headquarters on the way.
GNER can suck my balls
/rant onNot a happy bunny today - was supposed to be in London for a series of meetings but thanks to GNER just deciding to cancel my train, I spent 4 hrs in Leeds train station trying (unsuccesfully) to work out ways of getting down to London.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm happy to accept that trains need to be canceled or delayed but to do so without arranging an alternative route, offering compensation or even having the decency to apologise is just disgraceful. They seem to be relying on the fact that they control the transport to London so we have no alternative other than to use their service. I wish I could fly down to London as it's cheaper but unfortunately the airports are so far away from London that you still have to rely on the train to get away from the airport!
Sorry - needed to vent.

Q209354 - HOWTO: RTFM
I'm probably not alone in being regularly asked for computer advice - only to do a find that the person asking the question has the answer right in front of them but they're just too damn lazy to
RTFM. Here's a handy page to point those users to next time you're asked for help. (& this isn't aimed at anyone in particular, just in case you were wondering ;o) )
