Highest profile divorce Since Charles and Di
Astonishing! A marriage that has lasted 43 years is coming to an end - albeit an amicable one.
Barbie and Ken have decided to call it a day the day before Valentines Day... perhaps Ken forgot to get a card.
YETI SPORTS part 2
Remember the Penguin tw@ting game we posted (several times) a couple of weeks ago? Well part 2 of
YETI SPORTS is out now. This time there are snowballs, an orca whale, suicidal penguins and a big hairy behemoth of a yeti involved. It's every bit as addictive as the first one. This is starting to become one of the best series of web games out there.
Think you know your metal bands?
I'm pretty knowledgable about most kinds of music but it seems my knowledge of the latest metal is somewhat lacking.
Dark Elucidation came to my resuce with a listing and discography of loads of bands I hadn't heard of - it's worth s visit even if just to laugh at the funny names - they're like the output of a 'random
heavy metal band name generator'
The Dukes of Hazard explain the SCO/Linux debacle
Any geek worth his (or her) salt will be aware of the SCO/Linux debate and the issues surrounding it so I won't go into it here since it's not the easiest of things to explain. I'll leave that to the
Dukes of Hazard - mind you, Daisy Duke could explain molecular biology to me & I'd listen for hours.
thanks bruvver!
SHAUN OF THE DEAD - trailer
Last year we blogged a chance to be an extra in
Shaun of the Dead. The film is a spoof zombie movie starring the cast of the British comedy tv show "Spaced". Check out the newly released
trailer here - if you don't think it looks funny then you must have had a humour bypass.
Microsoft Source code leaked
Big news in the geek world today is that Microsoft (not to be confused with MikeRoweSoft!) have publically admitted that some of their hallowed source code
has been leaked onto the internet. The code seems to be a substantial chunk of the NT4 and Windows 2000 code. Even though these are older Operating Systems, this could have major ramifications on MS' push on security. The BBC cover the story
here and expect to see it as headline news on every geek website within minutes.
AARRGGGHHH!!!
Ha ha ha haaaaa!! Let's laugh at the
ugly American! (disclaimer to our American visitors - don't worry, we know you don't *all* look like this)

KILL HIM NOW
That's the hidden message within this page, if
the cryptographever is to be believed.
This seems to be a
bible code like decrypter.
Just goes to show if you look hard enough you can find "hidden" messages within anything.

Flight Club - an interactive glider game
Flight Club is an interactive glider-sim which can get quite addictive. Stick some chill-out music on your headphones and try not to get too angry learning the controls.

Stickman RPG
Don't click on this list unless you have at least ten minutes free when you're boss isn't looking.
Stick RPG is an online Role Playing game featuring you as a stickman. Buy cocaine, rob a bank or get a job - the choice is yours.
Free MSN/Trillian encryption
If you use MSN Messenger or even better -
Trillian for your Instant Messaging needs then you should really install
SimpLite for MSN. It's a doddle to install but and it's free. It automatically encrypts all traffic sent between you and your friends if they also have SIMP installed. If they have it installed then it encrypts - if they don't then it doesn't - simple and requiring no input from you, the end user.
There isn't a simpler way to stop anyone eavesdropping on your conversations.
Words
I like words,
these guys know lots of things about words.
Light Cycles
Tron? Cooool! Surely you remember it? No? Jeez - how old
are you? Anyways - those who are cool (read '
old') enough to remember Tron will remember the light cycles!
Here is a cracking little Open Source (read '
free') Tron Light Cycle game (this version is for Windows). Because it's Open Source it's awfully friendly - comes with uninstaller and everything.
Here are the installation instructions if you need them (even
I could do this, Grom!) and
here are some screen shots so you can see what you're getting! Oh - and it's less than a 2 meg download too!

Funderstanding Roller Coaster
Not a game... not 'front seat' footage - just a fun little applet! I had at least 5 minutes of fun playing with
this.
Teenagers 'using crisp packets as condoms'
Either this is a comment on modern society or a masterstroke by
Cheesy Wotsits' marketing team. Teenagers are apparently using
crisp packets as condoms as they can't afford to buy their own rubbers.
Scampi fries anyone?
When Urls go Bad: 'Cumming First - new organ'
When Urls go Bad: 'Cumming First - new organ' is actually a very
innocent webpage about a new pipe organ at Cumming First United Methodist Church in Cumming, Georgia. What did you think it was about?
Rude Vegetables
To follow on from the slightly smutty tree I posted,
here is a selection of somewhat filthy aubergines and their friends. NSFW and you'll never be able to look a sprout in the eyes again!
